Welcome to PennWest Clarion!

Once you’ve submitted your enrollment deposit, you can register for orientation to get to know the campus and meet some of your incoming class peers. You will also have the opportunity to review your fall schedule, meet with faculty and staff, and get all of your financial aid and residence life questions answered.

New Student Orientation

Participation in New Student Orientation is highly encouraged for all incoming, undergraduate First Year Students. Our PennWest Orientation program will enable you to connect with faculty, staff and students, while completing your next steps in the admissions process. This program will give you timely information and action items in areas such as Academic Course scheduling, Financial Aid, Health and Wellness Resources and Housing and Commuter Services.

New Student Orientation Dates

All winter and spring start students are automatically enrolled in a virtual New Student Orientation (NSO) course in D2L/Brightspace:

The winter orientation course opens two weeks before the start of the winter term.
The spring orientation course opens two weeks before the start of the spring term.

In addition to the online orientation, Welcome to PennWest Day will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on the first day of classes. This event provides an opportunity to connect with fellow students, learn about campus resources, and get ready for a successful start to the semester.

What To Expect

For Parents and Supporters:

Are you the parent, family member or guardian of a future Golden Eagle? Email orientation@pennwest.edu to ask questions or to set up a phone call with our Office of Parent and Family Engagement.

When you attend New Student Orientation (NSO) with your student, you will have your own break-out session to interact with staff and meet other parents/guests.
