PennWest University to celebrate Spring 2026 commencement ceremonies

PennWest University will celebrate the achievements of its graduates during spring 2026 commencement ceremonies May 9 across its California, Clarion and Edinboro campuses.

Ceremonies at all three campuses will be held at 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.

More than 1,800 students are expected to graduate this spring, joining PennWest’s growing network of more than 207,000 alumni. Ceremonies will recognize undergraduate, graduate and doctoral candidates from across the university’s three campuses and Global Online.

At each campus, the morning ceremony will recognize graduates from the College of Health Sciences and Human Services, while the afternoon ceremony will recognize graduates from the College of Education, Arts and Humanities and the Eberly College of Science, Technology and Business.

California campus

Commencement ceremonies at PennWest California will be held in the Convocation Center.

Dr. James D. Fisher, interim provost and vice president for Academic Affairs, will deliver greetings on behalf of the president and confer degrees during both ceremonies. Barry Niccolai, a member of the PennWest Council of Trustees, will provide trustee greetings during the morning ceremony, while California student trustee Tyrique Whitson will provide greetings during the afternoon ceremony.

Jordan Wiedman, Bachelor of Science, Criminal Justice, will deliver the student address during the 10 a.m. ceremony.

Caitlyn Egan, Bachelor of Science, Criminal Justice, will serve as student speaker during the 2:30 p.m. ceremony.

Clarion campus

Commencement ceremonies at PennWest Clarion will be held in Tippin Gymnasium.

PennWest President Dr. Jon Anderson will deliver greetings and confer degrees during both ceremonies.

Neil Weaver, a member of Pennsylvania’s State System of Higher Education Board of Governors, also will offer remarks during both ceremonies. JD Dunbar, chair of the PennWest Council of Trustees, will provide trustee greetings during the morning ceremony, while Clarion student trustee Timothy John will offer greetings during the afternoon ceremony.

Karsten Kadylak, Associate of Science, Nursing, will deliver the student address during the 10 a.m. ceremony.

Caleigh Aigler, Bachelor of Science, Business Administration in Economics, will serve as student speaker during the 2:30 p.m. ceremony.

Edinboro campus

Commencement ceremonies at PennWest Edinboro will be held in McComb Fieldhouse.

James Geiger, vice president for University Advancement, will deliver greetings on behalf of the president and confer degrees during both ceremonies. PennWest Council of Trustees member Pat Kennedy will provide trustee greetings during the morning ceremony, while Edinboro student trustee Aiden Dougan will offer greetings during the afternoon ceremony.

Chelsea Weimer, Master of Science in Speech Pathology, will deliver the student address during the 10 a.m. ceremony.

Kendal Mumaw, Bachelor of Science in Education, Secondary Education, will serve as student speaker during the 2:30 p.m. ceremony.
