Tobeco is launching its first Spontaneous Writing Event to nurture the love of creative writing at 6 p.m. Oct. 17 in Gemmell 246 and via Zoom. The Zoom meeting ID is 993 4482 2950.

Students on all PennWest campuses are welcome to join Tobeco members to develop skills for spontaneous creativity in writing. Participants will play various writing games, write with prompts, and share work. Whether attending in person or on Zoom, participants should have available some material on which to write, whether paper, a computer or a phone. The free event is powered by Clarion Students’ Association.

Tobeco is PennWest Clarion’s art and literary journal. Submissions to the 2024 journal are being accepted from students on all PennWest campuses. Submissions can include poems, short stories, creative nonfiction, scholarly work, art and photography. Send work to the Tobeco Club by email: Short work submissions should be five to seven pages or less and hold a maximum of five poem submissions per person. Please include a title for all submitted work and a name under which to submit the work, whether that be a given name, a pen name, or a preferred name.
