Movies on Main will have romance on the big screen beginning tonight with “Almost Love” at 6 p.m. and “Ticket to Paradise” at 8 p.m. The films continue through the weekend, each showing once each day. “Almost Love” will repeat at 8 p.m. Feb. 10, at 6 p.m. Feb. 11, and at 4 p.m. Feb. 12. “Ticket to Paradise” will repeat at 6 p.m. Feb. 10, at 8 p.m. Feb. 11, and at 2 p.m. Feb. 12. English Club and Sigma Tau Delta invite the campus community to fall in love with a hot, new read at Blind Date with a Book. Come to Carlson Library foyer between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Feb. 14, and meet your written romance. Genres range from sci-fi to horror to romance. Most books are used and are priced at $5 or less, payable in cash or by Venmo. Proceeds from book sales will benefit the first installment of Tobeco Junior Literary Journal, a new journal that provides an opportunity for Clarion County students in pre-K through grade 12 to publish their literary arts (poetry, fiction writing, nonfiction writing, essays, photographs, art, etc.).

 

Tri-Beta and Animal Care clubs will have a Valentine’s Day Soup and Cookie Sale to raise money toward a spring science symposium and to benefit Tri-County Animal Rescue. Proceeds from the sale will be divided evenly between the clubs for their respective causes. Get a bowl of soup, piece of bread and bottle of water for $5. Cookies and cake pops will be for sale, both priced at two for $1. Soups include shrimp bisque from Cousin Basil’s restaurant, taco, potato cheeseburger, broccoli cheddar and chili. Stop by for a free Valentine’s Day surprise. The sale runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 14 in the first-floor lobby of the Science and Technology Center.
