Ellucian, the leading higher education technology solutions provider, has named Pennsylvania Western University a 2023 Ellucian Impact Award winner.

The annual awards honor higher education institutions who push the boundaries of technology and innovation to solve challenges, operate more efficiently and offer a better student experience.

PennWest’s Information Technology Services (ITS) team was recognized in the Institutional Resilience category for streamlining technology across the California, Clarion, Edinboro and Global Online campuses.

“The many technologies that PennWest implemented over the past two years serve every aspect of our students' educational experience,” said Paul Allison, PennWest’s chief information officer. “Instruction, advising, student success process, housing and degree delivery are all made possible for PennWest students by what we have achieved.”

The Ellucian Impact Awards were announced March 29 at Ellucian Live, the higher education industry’s top global technology conference, in New Orleans.

As part of the honor, PennWest will also receive a $25,000 grant from Ellucian.

“PennWest was challenged with delivering massive organizational and technological change in a very short time,” Allison said. “The ITS team and its partners across PennWest met these challenges with tremendous energy and effort. We delivered a portfolio of technologies in a timeline never before achieved.”
