Pennsylvania Western University has earned 22 awards, including a “Best in Show” selection in the 38th annual Educational Advertising Awards and several top honors in the Collegiate Advertising Awards.

The national competitions recognizes educational institutions and collaborative agencies for excellence in educational advertising and marketing.

PennWest claimed 12 gold, four silver, three bronze and three merit awards in the two competitions.

Judges also selected a PennWest radio advertisement created in collaboration with strategic branding and marketing firm BD&E as one of 16 “Best of Show” winners based on the highest standards of creativity and professionalism.

“These projects are a reflection of the outstanding work being done across our campuses – inside and outside of the classroom,” said Angela Burrows, associate vice president of Brand Identity and Marketing and chief Marketing officer. “PennWest students, faculty and staff have a unique and exciting story to tell, and it’s our privilege to promote an institution that makes such a deep impact in our communities.”

Sponsored by HMR Publications Group, the Educational Advertising Awards received more than 2,000 entries from over 1,000 colleges, universities and secondary schools from all 50 states and several countries. Projects in the 57 award categories were judged for creativity, marketing execution and message impact by a national panel of industry specialists.
