University Affairs and Advocacy

The Vice President of the Office of University Affairs and Advocacy provides strategic vision and leadership to build advocacy capacity, support University Affairs, and advance the university’s mission and priorities.

The Office of University Affairs and Advocacy serves as a liaison between the university and all levels of government: federal, state, and local. We are committed to developing strong partnerships between our public officials and the university. We offer a variety of information resources to both members of the university community and public officials.

Advocacy Resources

The Office of University Affairs and Advocacy (OUAA) provides PennWest faculty, staff, and students with the tools needed to advocate effectively on behalf of the university. Engagements with public officials on behalf of the university should be coordinated in collaboration with the Office of University Affairs and Advocacy. The office can assist with the following:

  • Contact legislators and facilitate setting up meetings.
  • Provide addresses, telephone numbers, fax numbers, committee memberships, and biographical information for any legislator.
  • Provide information to prepare you to meet with legislators accurately and effectively.

Become an Advocate

Anyone with an interest in Pennsylvania Western University can become an advocate. This includes alumni, faculty, staff, and friends of the university. Advocates assist in letting elected officials know how you feel about selected legislative issues that impact PennWest and PASSHE.
