PennWest Wellness will host Befriend Your Body, a program for students to learn more about body image and its relationship to the sense of self-worth.

The confidential, HIPAA-protected group will meet online through a restricted Zoom link. Meetings will be from 2 to 3:15 p.m. Wednesdays, Oct. 18 and 25 and Nov. 1 and 8.

“Body image is the picture we have in our minds of the size and shape of our bodies and the thoughts and feelings we have about it,” said psychotherapist and disordered eating specialist Dr. Anne Kearney-Cooke.

Briana Steele, a counselor with PennWest Wellness, will lead the group. The group is for you if you want to:

- Learn more about body image and how it develops.

- Feel better about your body, including your height, weight and shape.

- Improve your physical experiences and beliefs about your body.

- Boost your overall sense of self-worth.

The group size is limited, and a completion of a pre-screening is required for registration. For information or to schedule a screening, email bsteele@pennwest.edu.
