Living Learning Communities (LLCs) are designed environments centered around specific academic fields and majors, fostering a unique opportunity for students to immerse themselves in a collaborative living experience. By residing alongside peers who share similar academic interests, students can cultivate a vibrant community that enhances their educational journey. These communities not only promote academic engagement but also facilitate meaningful connections through targeted programming and activities tailored to the respective fields of study. Participants have the opportunity to participate in relevant programming that would enrich their academic experience. Ultimately, LLCs serve as a dynamic support network, empowering students to thrive both academically and socially.

Themed Housing

Themed Housing provides a unique living environment within our residence halls, bringing together students who share common interests and passions. This intentional design fosters a sense of belonging and community among residents, allowing them to connect over shared experiences and pursuits. In these communities, programming is carefully crafted to align with the specific theme, encouraging active participation and engagement. Students will have opportunities to explore their interests and deepen their understanding of the community's focus. This collaborative environment encourages individuals to support one another in their interests and sets the foundation for lasting friendships with a common ground.

By residing alongside peers who share similar academic interests, students can cultivate a community that enhances their educational journey. LLCs serve as a dynamic support network where students can thrive both academically and socially.

Themed Housing provides a unique living environment for PennWest students who share common interests and passions. Students can connect over shared experiences and pursuits, which allows for a sense of belonging and community amongst residents. Programming is crafted to align with the specific theme and encourages active participation and engagement from students. Themed Housing encourages individuals to support one another in their interests and sets the foundation for lasting friendships.

Students who are interested in an LLC or in Themed Housing will be asked to indicate such on their housing application. If a student selects to live in one of these areas on their housing application, they will be put into a room selection process for that LLC or Themed Housing, and not into the general room selection process.

Groups of students wanting to select a space in an LLC or in Themed Housing will need to communicate with one another to make sure each student selected the same answer when completing their housing application. Students who do not have the same LLC/Themed Housing answer will not be pulled into the same space as their roommate match.
