About Me
Stephen J. Sullivan earned his Ph.D in Philosophy from Cornell University in 1990. He is an Associate Professor of Philosophy at Pennsylvania Western University and has taught on the Edinboro campus since 2004. His areas of specialization are ethics and philosophy of religion; he has published approximately three dozen scholarly papers, mainly in those areas. He also teaches a research writing course called College Composition and has published a paper in rhetoric. Sullivan especially enjoys teaching upper-level Honors courses; he recently developed and taught a new course called Philosophy and Race. He has served on many university-wide and departmental committees and (in the pre-pandemic era) organized over a dozen campus events. He is currently a member of the Executive Council for the Edinboro chapter of APSCUF, the faculty union.
