About Me
Nancy Carlino. M.A., CCC-SLP is an Associate Professor at Pennsylvania Western University and is located at the California campus. She is the Chair of the Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) department. Professor Carlino teaches undergraduate and graduate level courses and supervises students in the CSD Speech and Hearing Clinic. Current scholarship interests are in clinical education and adult neurogenic communication disorders. Nancy has presented at state and national conferences and has co-authored two articles on clinical education. She is actively involved in university committees, most recently the Institutional Review Board, Center for Faculty Excellence Committee, Campus Leadership Committee, and Faculty Scholarship Committee. Nancy is very involved in professional organizations and recently served as President of the Pennsylvania Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Prof. Carlino worked for 12 years as a medical speech-language pathologist with patients with neurogenic communication disorders before transitioning into academia. She obtained her bachelor’s degree from Duquesne University and her master’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh. Nancy is currently a consulting speech-language pathologist in home health and rehabilitation settings, working with adults with neurogenic communication disorders.
