Media is all around us. Every day we consult various types of media for news and information, to network both professionally and socially, and to be entertained. As the number of streaming services and other online platforms increases, so will the need for more professionals with media arts degrees.

At PennWest University, our bachelor’s degree in Media Arts builds on studio fundamentals to explore Animation, Digital Filmmaking and Photography.  Course design balances competitive industry standards with traditional practice drawn from the study of world cinema.

Experienced faculty lead you through a robust curriculum that meets the highest industry standards. You’ll learn to use state-of-the-art equipment, and work collaboratively with like-minded students in expansive creative spaces.

You will be immersed in the arts, both in and out of the classroom. Enjoy on-campus visits from alumni and other professionals who are working in the field. Travel to conferences and festivals in places like Toronto, Ottawa, New York and Los Angeles, where you can tour high-profile studios such as Disney, DreamWorks, Sony, Warner Bros, Nickelodeon, Universal and Stoopid Buddy Stoodios.

Of course, you’ll also want to take advantage of the chance to get real-world experiences through internships with local, regional and national companies. They provide valuable networking opportunities and sometimes lead to job offers!
