Prepare for success in one of the fastest growing healthcare careers.

Earn an AAS degree from PennWest to become a physical therapist assistant and help to improve the quality of your patients’ lives.

Demand for physical therapy services is increasing. The rigorous physical therapist assistant (PTA) associate degree program from PennWest California trains you to assist physical therapists (PTs) in providing much-needed rehabilitation that improve the quality of life for patients both young and old.

Our competitive program ensures you’ll receive top training. Experienced professors and small class sizes enhance your learning experience and create many opportunities for one-on-one instruction.

You’ll learn how to work with PTs to implement and monitor comprehensive physical therapy treatment plans. Among other things, you’ll perform physical therapy data collection, implement patient interventions, make appropriate clinical judgements and participate in discharge planning and follow-up care.

In the cadaver lab, you’ll gain insight into human anatomy and physiology, and through the PTA Club , you’ll network with other students and industry professionals, have the opportunity to attend local and national physical therapy conferences, continuing education, lectures, study groups and more.

In just two years you’ll be prepared to sit for the National Physical Therapy Examination (NPTE) and PTA licensure.
