Funding proposals are currently being accepted for students planning to participate in this year’s Strike a Spark (California) and Celebration of Scholarship (Clarion; Edinboro) events set to take place on April 17, 2024.

A limited number of grants, up to $600 per grant, are available at each of the PennWest campuses. Proposals will be accepted through February 16. Guidelines and applications are available on the Student Research web page.

Questions about funding or other matters related to the spring research events may be submitted using the online form.

Students and faculty from various academic backgrounds will display their research, creative work, theories, and performances to California’s annual Strike A Spark conference.

Through lab work, artwork, production designs, marketing plans, literary critique, graphic design and performances, students can express what they are focused, in their field, and showcase those interests to the rest of the school and the public.

Open to all undergraduate and graduate students who are interested in presenting and discussing their research, scholarship or works of creativity, Celebration of Scholarship will feature traditional poster-style presentations.

Appropriate entries include faculty-supervised independent research or creative projects, independent study and scholarly or creative projects in upper-level courses conducted by either an individual or a small group of students.
