PennWest Department of Nursing is collecting items to donate to victims of sexual violence in the Clarion and Edinboro areas. Those who would like to donate are asked to pull a tag from Giving Trees located in the lobby of Ralston Hall in Clarion and in the lobby of the Nursing Department in the Jeremy Brown Human Services Building in Edinboro.
At Clarion, monetary donations and donations of long-sleeved T-shirts and crew neck sweatshirts in various sizes are needed. Donations will be given to Passages, Inc., a sexual violence agency serving Clarion, Clearfield and Jefferson counties. Their mission is to advocate for the rights and needs of survivors of sexual violence, while working to eliminate all forms of sexual violence by educating community members and promoting social change.
At Edinboro, these items are needed: cleaning supplies, tissues, paper plates, dish soap, paper towels, Lysol, antibacterial wipes, children’s Tylenol, ibuprofen, adhesive bandages, snacks, denture cream, body wash, Rolaids, hair ties, hair brushes, headphones, Bath & Body Works sets, tumbler cups, throw blankets, LED lights, portable chargers, fast food gift cards, Walmart and Amazon gift cards, hand sanitizer. Donations will go to Safe Journey, which provides support, counseling and services to victims of domestic violence and their children.
Donations in both areas will be accepted until Dec. 13.
