PennWest invites community to name new robot dog

Staff and students interact with the robot dog near PennWest's Center for Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Technologies

The future just gained four legs.

The PennWest Center for Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Technologies has welcomed an exciting new team member: a cutting-edge robot dog designed to support innovation, research and hands-on learning. Now, the center is turning to the campus community for help with one important detail — choosing its name.

Agile, intelligent, and built for exploration, the AI-powered quadruped represents PennWest’s continued investment in emerging technologies and experiential education. From research initiatives to student engagement opportunities, the robot dog is poised to play a dynamic role across academic and innovation-focused projects.

The center is launching a campus-wide naming campaign, inviting students, faculty and staff to submit name ideas.

Community members are encouraged to think creatively. Whether inspired by technology or school pride, all name suggestions are welcome. Submissions will be accepted online through April 2.
