About Me
I began my studies at Antioch College, in Yellow Springs, Ohio, where I earned my BA in Education in 1998. As a student I began teaching in a preschool setting in 1996, and over the next 12 years taught in a variety of early childhood settings while earning my master’s degree in 2000 and my Ed.D. in 2008 from West Virginia University. I began teaching at Cal U (now Penn West California) in 2009, where I serve as a tenured member of the Early Childhood/Elementary Education program in the Education Department. It is my honor to teach future teachers of young children, to advise and mentor them, to support them through their processes of growth and professional development. I am a committed anti-bias educator, who believes in equality and full human rights for all; my classroom is a respectful and inclusive place, where each voice is important, and all aspects of learners’ diverse identities are welcomed.
