About Me
Dr. Renae R. Applegate House is a tenured Associate Professor of English at Pennsylvania Western University – Clarion where she teaches writing and literature. She advises several campus clubs, including Sigma Tau Delta and English Club. Dr. Applegate House is also the Clarion Writing Center Director and the advisor for Tobeco, the student-run literary and arts journal at PennWest-Clarion. Before teaching at PennWest - Clarion, Dr. Applegate House taught American and Southern literature at Shorter University in Rome, Georgia, where she was also the Writing Center Director. Dr. Applegate House has most recently published essays on Southern and Appalachian literature/culture in The North Carolina Literary Review, Mississippi Quarterly, West Virginia History, and Pennsylvania English. She has also recently published a nonfiction essay in the journal Works & Days as well as poems in Mothers Always Write, Impost, and The Bridge Literary Arts Journal.
