Dr. Kristin Webber brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her role as Professor of Education with a specialization in literacy at the Edinboro campus. Beginning her tenure in 2012, Dr. Webber has been a cornerstone of the education faculty, enriching the learning experiences of students and contributing significantly to the field of literacy education.
Prior to her distinguished career in academia, Dr. Webber served as a dedicated classroom teacher for 18 years, honing her skills and passion for literacy instruction. Her commitment to literacy excellence led her to pursue further certifications, becoming a certified reading specialist and structured literacy teacher through the esteemed Center for Effective Reading Instruction.
Dr. Webber's academic journey culminated in the attainment of her Ph.D. from the University of Akron in 2012, where her research focus on literacy pedagogy laid the foundation for her future contributions to the field.
One of Dr. Webber's proudest accomplishments is the establishment of the Edinboro Mobile Reading Program, an innovative afterschool tutoring initiative centered on structured literacy practices.
