About Me

Dr. Kristina Bodamer is an Associate Professor and assistant chairperson for the Education Department within the College of Education, Arts and Humanities.  Dr. Bodamer holds a PhD in Educational Philosophy with a Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment specialization.  She also holds a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction, and a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a minor in history. She has worked in the education field for over 27 years, with over 13 years’ experience working in the public school system as both an educator and an instructional coach. She has worked with children spanning from preschool to grade six in inclusive environments. 

Most of her time in higher education has been spent teaching in the Early Childhood and Elementary program, but she has also held roles as the Director of Accreditation, associate dean and assistant chair. She is Quality Matters certified and has a passion for developing curriculum and content courses, with the development of over 50 courses spanning ten years. Her research interests include social-emotional learning, supporting children with Tourette’s syndrome in the classroom, assessment as a means of improving student learning outcomes, and teaching strategies.
