About Me
Dr. Jim Lyle is an Associate Professor of Communication in the Department of Business, Economics, and Communication. Jim teaches at PennWest’s Clarion campus.
In addition to serving as a member of the communication faculty, Jim has taught extensively for PennWest’s Honors Program. Jim served as Director of the Clarion Speech & Debate team for a number of years and guided the program to multiple qualifications for the National Debate Tournament and coached teams to a pair of American Debate Association national championships.
Additionally, Jim chaired the Clarion Faculty Senate for two years, the University-Wide Promotion Committee for two years, and has been involved in virtually every departmental committee as a member or chair. Jim’s scholarly interests primarily revolve around issues of argumentation and advocacy, rhetoric, and political communication.
