About Me
Dr. Ziegler is a graduate of Valley Forge Military Academy. He earned a B. S. degree in Elementary Education from Mansfield University and an M. S. in School Guidance and Counseling from West Chester University. After serving as a teacher and later as a guidance counselor, he received a second Master’s Degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from Saint Bonaventure University. At the same time, he completed the requirements for the Letter of Eligibility to serve as a Superintendent of Schools. Dr. Ziegler earned a Doctorate of Education in Administration and Leadership Studies from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. His dissertation titled Constructivist Views of Teaching, Learning, and Supervision Held by Public School Teachers and Its Effect on Achievement in Mathematics received the Indiana University's Outstanding Graduate Student Research Award. A year later, a synopsis of this paper was presented at the American Educational Research Conference held in Seattle, Washington.
More recently, Dr. Ziegler completed training as a Master Reviewer for online course developers in higher education, K-12 schools, and commercial publishers seeking approval of their online courses and textbooks for inclusion within the Quality Matters (QM) network. His own online courses, Research in Education and Introduction to Educational Leadership earned the Quality Matters seal of distinction in quality assurance. The Quality Matters seal of distinction is a nationally recognized indicator of quality assurance and continuous improvement in online learning.
Dr. Ziegler has held numerous positions in public education from teacher to guidance counselor to principal K-12 and school district administrator. These experiences led to invitations to teach and speak nationally and internationally. During numerous visits, Dr. Ziegler taught educators at the Ministry of Education in Beijing, China elements defining teacher leadership and introducing Chinese principals and district-level administrators to curriculum development in the United States. He was also invited as the Keynote Speaker to attend the New Age Conference highlighting Moral Education in Luoyang, China. Dr. Ziegler continues to serve as a Full Professor in the Educational Leadership Department at Pennsylvania Western University teaching Doctoral Ed. D., principal K-12 certification candidates, and supervising aspiring school administrators conducting internships.
