Joel Erion is a Professor of School Psychology in the Department of Education. Formerly, he served as Program Head for the School Psychology Program, Chair of the Department of Counseling, School Psychology, and Special Education, and Interim Dean of the School of Education. He earned his doctorate in School Psychology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Prior to coming to Edinboro University Dr. Erion worked as a school psychologist in the public schools for 16 years. In 1993 he was chosen as School Psychologist of the Year by the Association of School Psychologists of Pennsylvania (ASPP). He served on the executive board of ASPP for many years including one term as president. Dr. Erion is a nationally certified school psychologist and a licensed psychologist in Pennsylvania. He has presented and published on numerous occasions, frequently with student co-authors. He served as a program reviewer for the National Association of School Psychologists. Research interests include single-case design research, parent tutoring, use of the instructional hierarchy, and program evaluation.
