About Me
Dr. Ginelle Hunsberger is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Nursing and teaches in the four year on campus BSN program for the Clarion campus. Ginelle has been teaching in the Nursing department at Clarion since 2016. Ginelle also has experience teaching in a Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) program where she served as a course instructor for the final Doctoral project courses.
Ginelle holds the following degrees and certifications: Registered Nurse (RN), Masters in Nursing Education, Doctorate in Nursing Practice (Healthcare Leadership), certified BLS and heartsaver CPR instructor through the American Heart Association, and Certified Nursing Educator (CNE). Ginelle worked as a RN in Medical-Surgical nursing and home healthcare for a total of 10 years before starting her teaching career. Ginelle serves on the following university wide committees: Faculty Forum Committee and PennWest Commission on Disabilities and Accessibility. Ginelle is a member of the following nursing department committees: BSN curriculum committee (Chair), BSN student conduct and grievance committee, scholarship committee, and the BSN assessment committee. Ginelle has received extensive training in writing next generation (NGN) NCLEX-RN questions and has delivered presentations on the topic as well as wrote NGN questions and case studies for RN nursing textbook companies. Ginelle has research interests in student success and retention as well as clinical experiences and how students select nursing career paths. Ginelle volunteers in the community for various youth activities.
