About Me
Dr. David Argent is a certified fisheries scientist with over 30 years of experience in the field. His areas of specialty include bioassessment, community inventory, big river fish ecology, and population dynamics. He also has an interest in climate change and its effects on coldwater fishes. At PennWest, he teaches courses in support of the BS in Fisheries and Wildlife Degree. He has published nearly 50 papers and presented over 100 times at professional meetings. He holds a BS degree in Biology from IUP, a master’s degree from VA Tech and a PhD from Penn State in Wildlife and Fisheries Science. He is a member of the American Fisheries Society (AFS) and currently advise the PennWest Student Chapter of the AFS. He also serves on the Certification Committee for the AFS and has in the past worked as the representative to Education Section and been the Pennsylvania Chapter President, twice. In his spare time, he twitches (birdwatches).
