Leadership Development for High School Students
You’ve been accepted to PennWest University — congratulations! Now, take the next step toward discovering what it means to be a leader and community member at PennWest through our exclusive PennWest Lead Up program.
This leadership development experience is designed just for accepted high school seniors who haven’t yet made their college decision. You’ll connect with current student leaders, explore campus involvement opportunities, and develop the leadership skills that will set you apart from day one.
What is PennWest Lead Up?
PennWest Lead Up offers a first look at the Campus Life and Leadership Programs that make PennWest unique — including:
- Clubs and Organizations
- Athletics and Recreation
- Student Ambassador Programs
- Presidential Leadership Academy (PLA)
Through engaging, interactive sessions, you’ll uncover your leadership potential and learn how to make your mark when you officially join the PennWest community.
Complete at least four out of five sessions to earn a Certificate of Program Completion, a great addition to your resume and college portfolio, as well as priority consideration for Leadership Scholarships!
Who Can Join
Lead Up is for high school seniors accepted to PennWest who have not yet committed. We're looking for future leaders who are ready to take the next step toward college success.
Who Hosts the Sessions
The Student Development Office coordinates the Lead Up experience, ensuring each session is meaningful, interactive, and fun. Attendance is tracked to recognize students who complete the program with a Certificate of Achievement.
You’ll meet and learn directly from current PennWest student leaders, staff mentors, and leadership program coordinators — real people who will inspire you to get involved and grow.
