evaluate their habitats and sample for disease-causing pathogens.
Field-collected samples will be analyzed in the laboratory using cutting-edge tools in molecular biology, including DNA extraction, amplification and characterization.
Students will conduct various field and laboratory projects in which they will design their own research studies and learn about our local natural habitats.
In addition, they will have the opportunity to interact with professionals to learn
more about career opportunities in fisheries, wildlife, ecology and laboratory sciences.
