Dr. Katherine Robbins, director of athletics at PennWest Edinboro, will join a distinguished panel of leaders July 1 at the renowned Chautauqua Institution for a discussion on leadership, resilience and creating meaningful change.

Robbins will participate in "The Audacity to Lead: Four Women, One Powerful Conversation," a public forum scheduled for 4 p.m. July 1 at the Hall of Philosophy at Chautauqua Institution, a nationally recognized educational and cultural center in western New York.

Joining Robbins on the panel are Belinda Rogers, senior counsel at Erie Insurance and moderator of the discussion; Rebecca Styn, founder and CEO of Blind Tiger; and Melinda Hall, dean of the Episcopal Cathedral of St. Paul.

The conversation is part of Chautauqua Institution's opening week theme, "Icons and Instigators: Women Who Change the World," which explores the impact of women leaders who have shaped their professions, communities and society. Week One programming is sponsored by Erie Insurance, a longtime supporter of educational and community initiatives throughout northwestern Pennsylvania.

"Chautauqua has a long tradition of bringing together people and ideas that inspire thoughtful conversation," Robbins said. "It's an honor to be part of a discussion with such accomplished leaders and to share perspectives from higher education and athletics."

Robbins has served as director of athletics at PennWest Edinboro since 2018, bringing a unique blend of experience in higher education and athletics leadership. A former faculty member and academic leader, she has championed student success, leadership development and community engagement throughout her career.

"One of the most rewarding aspects of working in higher education is watching students discover their strengths and develop the confidence to lead," Robbins said. "Athletics provides a unique environment for developing resilience, teamwork and character, and those lessons extend far beyond competition."

Her invitation to participate reflects the growing visibility of PennWest leaders on regional and national stages and highlights the university's commitment to developing leaders who make a difference in their communities and professions.

Founded in 1874 and located on the shores of Chautauqua Lake in western New York, Chautauqua Institution annually welcomes thousands of visitors for programs focused on education, leadership, arts, religion and civic engagement.
