The PennWest Department of Visual and Performing Arts will present Law and Order: Fairy Tale Unit — a hilarious twist on the classic tale of the Three Little Pigs — Oct. 16–18 in Steele Hall, located on the PennWest California campus. Showtimes are Thursday and Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 8 p.m.

Tickets for Law and Order: Fairy Tale Unit are available at https://tinyurl.com/mryan2cz.

In this clever comedy, the “Big Bad” Wolf is wrongly accused while the Three Pigs face charges in a comical insurance fraud scheme. Written by Jonathan Rand, one of the most-produced contemporary playwrights in the world, the play combines courtroom drama with fairytale humor.

This production, which is being staged during Homecoming Week at PennWest California, marks the PennWest theater program’s annual First Year Show (FYS), featuring first-year students. It also launches a new tradition: Each fall, the FYS will feature a play written by a PennWest theater alumnus. Rand performed on the Steele Hall stage more than 20 years ago. His plays have now been staged over 30,000 times in 71 countries.

PennWest California Homecoming theater festivities continue with the Caloweentown Community Dessert Reception 6-8 p.m. Oct. 18 in the Natali Student Center, featuring live music, theatre improv, crafts, games, and treats for all ages.
