Edinboro Planetarium announces spring program schedule

Whether you want to stargaze, journey to distant galaxies or explore the solar system, PennWest Edinboro’s Planetarium is your gateway to the universe.

Love is in the air as the spring 2025 season launches Wednesday, Feb. 12, with “Be My Constellation.”

Spring 2025 Edinboro Planetarium Schedule:

Feb. 12 at 7 p.m. – “Be My Constellation”

Celebrate Valentine’s Day under the stars with your special someone. This PennWest Edinboro Planetarium production explores epic love stories written in the stars.

Feb. 25 at 7 p.m. – "Getting a FEEL for Astronomy"

Join PennWest Planetarium director Dr. David Hurd for a "touching" night under the stars. Explore multiple resources developed by Hurd to bring the heavens within reach of all students, including those who are blind and visually impaired. Participants will receive several astronomy books adapted for blind and visually impaired students that they can get in the hands of regional teachers to use as a resource in their classrooms.

March 18 at 6 p.m. – “The World at Night”
Journey into the world as seen through the eyes of our animal friends on Presque Isle during the nighttime hours. NOTE: This program is geared toward children 10 and under.

March 18 at 8 p.m. – “Spring has Sprung”
Explore the science behind the vernal equinox and the reason we celebrate spring. The program concludes with a full-color laser light show. Be aware that this show features loud music and bright lights.

April 28 at 7 p.m. – “What’s Up?”
The name says it all. Discover current constellations and other objects visible in your backyard at the Edinboro Planetarium.

All Edinboro Planetarium shows, which are held in Cooper Science Center Room 169, are free and open to the public. Reservations are required.
