Learn about health matters during lunch break

Vaping and mindfulness

Dana Salopek, MS, CPT, the UPMC onsite health coach for the Clarion campus, will have two Stop By booths Jan. 23 in the Eagle Commons lobby.

Get the facts on vaping from 11 a.m. to noon. People may say vaping is safer than smoking and believe that it helps calm them when they’re stressed, but are those things true? Salopek will dive into the facts about vaping and how it may affect your health.

From 12:15 to 12:45 p.m. Salopek will share information about alleviating stress by channeling the five senses to focus on one’s surroundings. Even a few minutes of mindfulness can lead to calmness, clarity and concentration. This technique can be practiced during your commute, during lunch, on a break, or whenever you feel overwhelmed.
