Edinboro cadet to receive station assignment in Hawaii
Edinboro’s branch of the Army ROTC will commission graduating senior Robert Goodman as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army.
Goodman will be recognized alongside the Fighting Scots Battalion at 1 p.m. Friday, May 3, in Frank G. Pogue Student Center.
Born in Oklahoma City and raised in Erie, Pennsylvania, Goodman will commission as a military police officer and earn a degree in geology with a minor in leadership.
Goodman spent 11 years of his life in the Erie region until he moved to Pearland, Texas, in 10th grade to get closer to his family.
As a cadet, he was a part of the Ranger Challenge team, Arctic Challenge, color guard and cannon crew, and graduated from Air Assault School at West Point, New York.
After commissioning, Goodman will head to Ft. Knox, Kentucky, to participate in a Camp Cadre preparation program until August. From there, he will train at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri before his official posting in Hawaii.
