About Me

I was appointed Assistant Professor and Coordinator of Clinical Services and Athletics Health Care Administrator (AHCA) at Cal U in May 2018. In 2021 I received Tenure and was elected Chairperson of the Department of Health Science and after Integration into Penn West, as the Chairperson of the Department of Student Services.

I bring over 30 years of experience in higher education and athletics healthcare after serving in progressive athletic training and administrative roles at Stevenson University (2013-2018), Slippery Rock University (1999-2013), Alfred University (N.Y.) (1993-1999) and Olivet College (Mich) (1991-1993).

At PennWest, I oversee the operations of the Department of Student Services as well as oversee the operation of the clinical faculty in athletic training at PennWest California. I also serve as the NCAA Athletic Health Care Administrator and as the Drug Testing Site Coordinator.

I earned a BS in Allied Health/Athletic Training from Slippery Rock University, as well as a Masters in Education (M.Ed) from SRU in Instruction and Program Development.

I am a past recipient of the NATA Service Award (2013) and the Dan Libera Service Award for outstanding service to the BOC (2005). I was also selected for the President’s Leadership Development Program (2014-15) at Stevenson University, where I served as Associate Director of Athletics and Director of NCAA Compliance.

In 2015, I was appointed as an ATC Spotter with the NFL’s Player Health and Safety Department and was assigned to the Washington Redskins from 2015-18 and currently serve in that capacity with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

I resides in New Stanton, Pennsylvania, with my wife Kerry and their three children, Nora, Elliette and Giovanni.  My family and I are also resource parents for the PA Foster Care System.
