About Me

Robin Weaver, PhD, RN, CNE is a professor of nursing, and Global Online RN-BSN Coordinator and MSN Administration and Leadership (MSN ADML) Coordinator for PennWest Department of Nursing and Health Professions.  She earned her Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from Community College of Beaver County (CCBC) and  BSN, MSN and PhD from Duquesne University. Throughout her career she combined clinical expertise with a strong commitment to advancing nursing education and professional practice.

She spent more than 15 years in clinical nursing and nursing administration. Her clinical experience included telemetry, medical intensive care (MICU), and home hospice for Allegheny General Hospital  as well as post-anesthesia (PACU) for a small community hospital. She served as District Manager for the Visiting Nurses Association of Butler County.

She has spent more than 20 years in nursing education.  She served as a nursing faculty for Ohio Valley Hospital School of Nursing (OVGHSON) and Adjunct Faculty for Waynesburg University.  In 2007, she became Director for OVGHSON, during which time she successfully secured grant funding, developed, and implemented a nursing simulation program.  Since 2015, she became a faculty member for California University of Pennsylvania  (CalU) which became Pennsylvania Western University (PennWest) in 2022.  She served as Department Chair and RN-BSN Coordinator for CalU.  In AY 22/23 she served as Accreditation Coordinator for PennWest.  She teaches in the RN-BSN, MSN ADML, and DNP programs for PennWest.

She has presented her work at various local and national conferences and is a published author in her field.  Additionally, she serves as an Accreditation Site Visitor for the Accrediting Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) and she remains active in a variety of Professional Nursing Organizations.
