Stacy Gibson, DNP, RN

Dr. Stacy Gibson is a Nursing Instructor in the Department of Nursing and Health Professions in the Associate Science in Nursing program at PennWest Clarion, Somerset. Stacy has been a Registered Nurse since 2007 after obtaining her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing. She started her nursing career in the Abdominal Transplant department at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC. After obtaining her Master of Science in Nursing degree from Carlow University, she transitioned into several education and leadership roles. She began her academic career at Pennsylvania Western University in 2020 and obtained her Doctor of Nursing Practice from PennWest in 2023. Stacy is involved in the growth of her program by maintaining membership on the ASN Curriculum Committee, the ASN Assessment Committee, and the Simulation Committee. She is an active participant in ACEN accreditation. Stacy is a leader in her profession and has presented at several local nursing conferences. Her research interests include discharge care transition planning, nursing quality standards, and healthcare efficiency.
