About Me
Dr. Marc Sanko is an Associate Professor of History in the Department of Criminal Justice, History and Politics at Pennsylvania Western University. Dr. Sanko is the Department Assistant Chair and the History B.A. program lead. At Clarion, Dr. Sanko has worked on several committees but is most proud of his active work with students. As advisor for the History Club, he has aided their growth and establishment of exciting community-oriented events.
His fields of study include American Immigration and Labor, US Foreign Policy, British Imperial History (with a specific focus on Canada), and Public History. Accordingly, he has continued to research, publish, and create historical content where possible including a short chapter on Erie, PA women in World War II and a local history podcast called “Stories from the Pennsylvania Wilds.” He has a passion for continuing to tell local stories and working with students to hone their professional historical skills. He is proud to prepare students for their success after PennWest in professional careers or in graduate school.
