About Me

Dr. Mandy Fauble is a licensed clinical social worker and PennWest Edinboro alum, receiving her master’s degree in social work in 2002. She earned her Ph.D. at Case Western Reserve University in 2009. Dr. Fauble has been a full-time social worker since 2002, and she has special interests in serious mental illness, trauma, intergenerational impacts of trauma, substance use disorder, suicide prevention, crisis intervention, and organizational leadership. She has been a therapist, supervisor, program director, and agency administrator. Developing and implementing innovative behavioral health programs is her passion.

Dr. Fauble has been an adjunct professor at Mercyhurst University from 2005-2023 and has been at PennWest Edinboro since 2012. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes building foundations of interpersonal skills, knowledge, and values required to successfully practice professional social work. This philosophy includes emphasis on the ‘parallel process’ and reflection of professional practice within strategies used in the educational setting.

She is certified in online teaching and utilizes online platform technology to create an interactive and academically robust environment.

Suicide prevention is an important issue for Dr. Fauble. She serves on several suicide prevention projects and is a certified instructor of both Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training and Question, Persuade, Refer. Dr. Fauble has served on the board of directors for several entities, has been a project director for multiple multi-sectorial grant projects, and enjoys advocacy work locally, and at the state and national levels.

At home, Dr. Fauble enjoys reading, music, travel, cooking, crafting, hiking, and spending time with her family, including her husband, three children, and dog.
