About Me
Mary Buchanan, an Assistant Professor, is an Information Literacy and Research Services Librarian at PennWest Clarion and is based in Carlson Library at Clarion. She joined the faculty in 2008. She has a Master of Science in Library Science from Clarion University and a BS in Accounting from Albright College in Reading, PA. Mary’s previous experience is as a Children’s Librarian at a public library and as the System Administrator for the Clarion County Library System. Her work is focused on information literacy instruction and research assistance in all teaching modalities to support student success. In addition to membership in professional library organizations, Mary serves on the PennWest Commission on Disabilities and Accessibility, PennWest Faculty Senate, and various committees of the local chapter of the Association of Pennsylvania State College and University Faculties. She is an advisor for the Circle K student group on Clarion campus and is active with Kiwanis International, Scouts BSA, and the Clarion County Library Board.
