About Me

Dr. Joseph Croskey is an Associate Professor in the Department of Student Services at Pennsylvania Western University. He serves as the Director of the Act 101 Program and the Advising Center, advising undeclared/exploratory students. Formerly, he was the inaugural Executive Director of the PASSHE Frederick Douglass Institute. Additionally, Joseph held several different positions at PennWest - Clarion including the Upward Bound (UB) Academic Counselor, UB Co-Director, Assistant Director Honors Program, & Coordinator of Transitions Services. In addition to PennWest, Joseph has been working in the field of wellness as a contracted facilitator for the United Nations Foundation.  He is a certified SIY Global instructor. As a leader at PennWest, Joseph was the President for the Faculty Senate (Clarion Campus), the APSCUF CAP chair, member of the various committees, Faculty advisor to the Soccer Team and the Department Chair. Joseph is also involved in the local community, teaching well-being workshops for residents at the local hospital, and to others. Joseph is a leader in his profession and has presented at several local, state, and national, advising conferences.  Lastly, Joseph’s research interests include mindfulness among college students (student athletes – mental toughness) and effective leadership skills/techniques.

He and his wife reside at Camp Happy with their dog, Carson. Their grown children are doing well.
