About Me
Dr. Janice Carello is an Associate Professor in the Department of Social Work, Sociology and Human Services. She has served PennWest as Master of Social Work (MSW) Program Director and has provided leadership on numerous program, department, and university committees. Janice’s scholarship focuses on retraumatization in educational settings and trauma-informed approaches in higher education. She has authored numerous articles and chapters and was the 2016 recipient of the Florence W. Vigilante Award for Scholarly Excellence.
Janice is also an international speaker and consultant and has co-edited three books: Trauma-Informed Pedagogies, Lessons from the Pandemic, and Trauma and Human Rights.
