Debbie Goh, PhD

Dr. Debbie Goh is an associate professor in the Department of English, Philosophy, and Modern Languages at Pennsylvania Western University. She also serves as media director and advisor for PennWest campus newspapers CalTimes, Clarion Call, and Edinboro Spectator. Her research focuses on news rhetoric, digital inequalities and the processes that influence engagement with new media technologies. She received her Ph.D. in Mass Communication and M.A. in Journalism from Indiana University Bloomington. A former journalist with The Straits Times in Singapore, she continues to actively engage with the news industry. In 2021, she served as research lead for the Asian American Journalists Association Asia Chapter’s Advancing News Diversity in Asia project.
