About Me
Dr. Christina Fisanick is a Professor of English at Pennsylvania Western University,
where she teaches expository writing, digital storytelling, and creative nonfiction.
She is an internationally known scholar in public history and digital storytelling
and holds a Certificate in Digital Storytelling from the University of Colorado at
Denver.
She is the author or editor of more than 30 books, including most recently
Dr. Fisanick’s poetry, essays, and articles have appeared in a variety of publications,
including the Journal of Advanced Composition, Feminist Media Studies, Still: The Journal, the Journal of Appalachian Studies, and the North Meridian Review, among others.
She has presented at numerous conferences in a variety of interrelated disciplines, including the Conference on College Composition and Communication, the National Council of Teachers of English, the Appalachian Studies Association Conference, the International Digital Storytelling Conference, and the Society of Appalachian Historians.
In addition to serving as the president of the Writers Association of Northern Appalachia
(WANA) and the co-host of WANA LIVE!: The Reading Series, Dr. Fisanick is the co-chair
of the Northern Appalachian Network at PennWest California.
