Mirza Mohammad Maqbule Elahi, Ph.D.

Dr. Elahi is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computing and Engineering Technology at PennWest California. He brings more than a decade of teaching experience in Electrical and Computer engineering technology, with expertise in Electrical Circuits, Digital Electronics, Microprocessor Systems, Embedded Programming, Computer Networking, and Telecommunications. He earned a B.S. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and both an M.S. and Ph.D. in Computational Science from The University of Texas at El Paso.

Dr. Elahi is passionate about creating dynamic and interactive learning environments through active, experiential, and project-based learning. He is deeply committed to student success and takes pride in mentoring future engineers and technologists by fostering critical thinking, problem-solving, and hands-on technical skills. He actively contributes to the academic and professional community through service on university-wide committees and participation in engineering education organizations, including ASEE, and is dedicated to mentoring and preparing the next generation of engineering professionals. His research in the past focused on radio frequency interference mitigation using convolutional neural networks and transfer learning on Software-Defined Radio platforms funded by the U.S. Department of Defense.
