About Me
Mr. Cody Mott is the Choral Director in the Department of Visual and Performing Arts
at PennWest University Edinboro. In addition to conducting the University Singers
at Edinboro, he serves as the Choral Director at Lake Ridge Academy in Cleveland,
Ohio, teaching courses in choir, theater, and piano. Mr. Mott received his undergraduate
in Music Education from Edinboro University, and a Masters in Choral Conducting from
The State University of New York at Fredonia. Prior to his PennWest University appointment
in 2019, Mr. Mott was a professor at SUNY Fredonia teaching aural skills, choral conducting,
and directing the University Chorus. In recent years, Mr. Mott has served as the Chorus
Master for the Hillman Opera directing a French opera, Cendrillon, by Jules Massenet.
His other music directing credits include The Merry Wives of Windsor and Captain Lovelock
for the Fredonia Opera Scenes
productions. He is an honorary member of Kappa Kappa Psi, Phi Mu Alpha, and the International
Thespian Society. When he is not in the classroom, he is an active vocalist for the
Oberlin Choristers in Ohio. Mr. Mott continues to create pathways for his students
not only in the local music community, but also at the state and national level.
