About Me
Kristy Bishop, Ph.D., serves as provost and vice president for Academic Affairs at PennWest University, where she serves as the university's chief academic officer. She provides leadership for the university's academic enterprise, including academic strategy, faculty engagement, student success initiatives, curriculum innovation and academic operations.
Before joining PennWest, Bishop served as vice president for institutional field relations for the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. She previously served as interim president and vice president for academic affairs at Westmoreland County Community College and has held leadership roles in institutional research, assessment and academic administration. Throughout her career, she has worked closely with faculty and institutional leaders to advance accreditation, strategic planning, institutional effectiveness and student success initiatives.
Bishop has served as an accreditation peer reviewer and team chair and has contributed to state and national higher education committees and advisory boards focused on accreditation, institutional research, transfer policy and workforce development.
